"Although one of my abstracts was accepted at a previous meeting, I was unable to go as I gave birth to my child during that time. With the GCAW funding, I will be able to attend an SIR meeting before I finish my residency, which makes it feel much more personal."

"I applied for the GCAW program because it aligns with my vision of supporting women in IR. As someone who has worked hard to balance research and career advancement, often without dedicated funding, I saw this award as an invaluable opportunity to both further my research and contribute to a larger movement aimed at elevating women in this specialty."

Amplify the power of giving
A giving circle is formed when individuals come together and pool their dollars, decide together where to give the money and learn together about their community and philanthropy.
When you join the SIR Foundation Giving Circle for the Advancement of Women, you are giving intentionally and thoughtfully. Your contribution is more than money; it is your time and voice making an impact for IR research.
Mission
To advance the professional growth and success of women in interventional radiology.
Vision
Build a community of philanthropists to provide career development opportunities for women in interventional radiology. We are dedicated to engaging all generations of women in interventional radiology through the power of community philanthropy.
Members join the Giving Circle for the Advancement of Women through a gift to SIR Foundation. The giving circle members are presented with opportunities to fund and the opportunity with the most votes receive the donated dollars.
Interested applicants will apply for the specified opportunity and will be funded. One year later, the impact of their collective giving is shown to the GCAW and then the GCAW chooses the next round of opportunities to fund.
